About Us: Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Elementary School is set to make history as the first Serbian Orthodox elementary school in Canada, opening its doors in Fall 2025. Position Overview:
We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic Part-Time Afterschool Educator to join our growing team. The Afterschool Educator will provide a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students during afterschool hours, assisting with homework, supervising play, and leading enrichment activities. This position is ideal for individuals with prior experience working with children who are passionate about fostering both academic and personal growth in a faith-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and engage students in a safe, caring, and respectful environment during afterschool hours.

• Support students with homework, reading, and enrichment activities as needed.

• Plan and lead age-appropriate recreational, educational, and cultural activities.

• Model and encourage positive social interactions and reinforce Eastern Orthodox Christian values.

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians at pick-up, as needed.

• Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a supportive and organized afterschool program.

• Ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all students in the program.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, camp, or recreational setting.

• Education Assistant (EA) qualification, Child and Youth Worker diploma, or equivalent experience preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage groups of children in a structured yet engaging way.

• Passion for supporting children’s growth and learning in a faith-based school environment.

• Fluency in Serbian an asset but not required.

• OCT certification is not required.
