Student Dress Code

Students are required to wear uniforms. The purpose of a school uniform is to provide a positive learning  atmosphere free from the distraction of fashion trends, and give the school environment the respect it deserves. The success of a uniform code is dependent upon the cooperation of parents, students, and staff.  To prevent loss of property and clothing, consider labeling all items with student name so that it can be returned appropriately. 

What students can wear?  

Boys: 

  • School uniform white polo shift - long or short-sleeved styles 

  • School uniform knit cardigan

  • Pants - Must be navy (No other colors  allowed)

  • Socks - white

  • Black shoes - velcro or lace (running shoes are not permitted except on Phys-ed days)

Girls

  • School uniform white polo shift - long or short-sleeved styles 

  • School uniform knit cardigan

  • Skorts (skirt with built-in shorts) – Navy blue, knee length 

  • White knee high socks or white closed toe leggings

  • Shoes: black  “Mary Jane” flats

Important note: 

  • During winter months girls are allowed to wear extra leggings under skorts

  • During outdoor winter time and on rainy days, students will wear their snow pants, winter jackets, winter boots or rain boots (see section 7.5)

  • Running shoes for phys-ed shall be kept at school 

  • JK/SK students only are allowed to wear running shoes during outdoor play time

Liturgical Attire

Purpose: To promote reverence, unity, and respect during school Liturgies, feast days, and special church events.

Girls

  • Blouse or Shirt

    • Long or ¾ sleeves (no short sleeves)

    • Modest neckline (no open collar)

    • Optional subtle lace or embroidery around collar

  • Skirt - knee length or longer

  • Dress shoes - closed-toed, modest (“Mary Jane” flats are acceptable)

  • Hair neatly, brushed, tied or braided

Boys

  • Dress shirt - long sleeves, tucked in

  • Long pants - proper fit (no skinny or sagging styles)

  • Dress shoes - clean and polished

  • Hair neatly groomed

Not Permitted:

Girls

  • Shorts (except for Phys-Ed class)

  • Makeup, nail polish, or flashy jewelry

  • Sneakers, sandals, or boots

  • Mini-skirts or tight-fitting garments

  • Graphic prints or writing on shirts

Boys

  • Jeans or casual pants

  • Graphic T-shirts or open collars

  • Sneakers or sport shoes

  • Baseball hats or hoodies

  • Untucked shirts

Which items of clothing are not permitted at any time?

  • NO SWEATPANTS 

  • NO MINI-SKIRTS  

  • NO YOGA PANTS  

  • NO TRANSPARENT CLOTHING (no visible undergarments)  

  • NO TEAM OR SPORT JERSEYS  

  • NO PRINTED CLOTHING 

Casual Day  

Once a month on a Friday the School will have a dress-down or Casual Day. Pants and shorts must be appropriate length and look neat (no holes, rips, fraying, etc.) The principal has a right to move Casual Day to another day of the week. Parents and students will be notified. 

Physical Education Classes  

Tennis shoes, sweatshirts, and sweatpants may only be worn during physical education class.  

  • Grades K – 5: Regular uniform attire and a separate pair of athletic shoes to be kept at school.  

  • Grades 6 – 8: All students must practice good hygiene.  

Students grade 1 and higher must bring a change of clothes for physical education. Regular uniforms must be worn after class is completed. 

Cold Weather Clothing / Recess  

  • All students must wear boots that can be removed during the day.  

  • All students should be dressed for cold weather with slacks, gloves, hats, etc. 

  • Students must have snow pants during winter. 

  • PLEASE LABEL ITEMS WITH THE STUDENT'S NAME.  

  • Sweaters, fleeces, etc. must be navy, powder blue, or white. No other colors allowed.
